Dennis Farris attended Central Missouri State on scholarship and received
his BFA in 1987. Shortly thereafter, he moved to Fort Worth, Texas to begin
a career in commercial illustration. In the late 1990's he launched his fine
art career which includes sculpture and oil painting. Some of his shows have
included: Holland and Holland, Sculpture on the Trinity, Sculptureworks, and
Art Splash on the Square. Most recently, he has been selected as one of the
2006 Top 100 for the Arts for the Parks Competition in Jackson Hole,
Wyoming. In 2009 he won an Award of Excellence at the National Oil Painters
of America Show. With his focus primarily on the Western landscape, Dennis
has concentrated his efforts on capturing the haze and atmosphere of the
dramatic Southwestern region.
