Jared Sanders-(b.1970) grew up in Kaysville, a small
semi-rural town in Northern Utah. He spent his youth
exploring the canyons of the Wasatch Mountains near his
home. His love of drawing and painting the mountains
and rural landscape of his small town began at an early
age and he ambitiously hoped to one day become a
professional artist.
He attended Utah State University and
studied under Glen Edwards, a prominent Utah artist and
professor, who taught many of today's leading western
artists. Jared graduated from Utah State University
in 1995 and in a few short years he had realized his
dreams of becoming a professional artist. His
landscapes' strong compositions and structural approach
complimented by his sudued pallet illustrating the often
overlooked beauty of the rural west, have quickly gained
favor in the eyes of galleries, collectors and
publications.
Jared was featured in Southwest
Art Magazine's article, "21 and 31" in September
of 2000. In April of 2001 a feature article,
"Introducing Landscape Painter Jared Sanders"
was also published in southwest Art Magazine. Since
1999, Jared has had 10 successful one man shows in Jackson
Hole Wyoming, Sedona Arizona, Park City, Utah and Santa
Fe, New Mexico. He has place among the top 100
entries in the prestigious national Arts for the Parks
competition in 1999 and 2000, winning the People's Choice
Award in 2000. Most recently, Jared was invited to
show his work in the Artists For the New Century show at
the Bennington Center for the Arts in Bennington, Vermont.
Jared's work is well recognized
and appreciated for its unique style, approach and beauty.
Now living in a small town in Utah, Jared continues to
celebrate the enduring forms of farmlands, hills, rivers
and trees that he so intimately know and loves.
